Drouillard
House
The
present
Sensitive,
detailed restoration and authentic Victorian furnishings qualify Drouillard
House for museum status — but it is not a museum.
Modern amenities
such as, central heat and air, private baths, ten working fireplaces,
a well-equipped kitchen, and luxurious beds qualify it as a home —
but it is not a private residence, it is home to NashCamp!
Drouillard
House is the best of both past and present, uniquely suited for nurturing
the spirit... a perfect retreat setting for learning music.
Welcome!
Whether
they were playing charades or Chopin, Victorians enjoyed socializing.
In the Drawing Room, we hold workshops around the fireplace or the rare
antique piano.
Drouillard
House has two elegant, formal dining rooms: One is a cozy anteroom and
the other is a grand dining hall. Both have easy access to the sheltering
front porch where dining can be enjoyed outdoors in balmy weather.
Drouillard
House mansion has five bedrooms with private bath which accommodate our
campers who attend as couples. For those who attend by themselves, there
are 12 log cabin bedrooms available for triple occupancy. Men and women
are housed separately in these tin-roofed cabin rooms with rocking chair
porches. The log rooms have colorful rag rugs, fireplaces, private baths,
antique furnishings, and unique accessories. All linens and towels are
provided.
The
Carriage House, with beamed ceiling and two sets of large double doors,
is the perfect place for NashCampers to gather for large group activities.
The stables
are break-out rooms for smaller groups.
For those
wishing to bed off-site, Montgomery Bell State Park (615-797-3101) and
hotels in Dickson, TN, are nearby.
